Andre Petterson : Balance
i. I am an artist who works with many mediums. Photography, painting, sculpture, installation etc.
ii. On a ‘typical’ day, you’ll find me… all over the place. Working in my studio, driving around – taking pictures or just thinking, sitting in restaurants.
iii. The name of my upcoming show is: Balance.

iv. In describing the show in three sentences or less, I’d say:
It’s “a day in the life of living in Vancouver, observing the changes over the past 3 decades. “
v. When you come to the show, you’ll see:
Paintings of mixed mediums – Photography / painting.
vi. My inspiration for this show comes from:
Having lived in Vancouver since 1970 and growing up through all of the urban shifts.

vii. One challenge in developing this show was “painting a picture“ in a way that isn’t just photos of the city.
viii. My past work includes:
Many multi-media works with subjects ranging from Typewriters, Books, Horses, Bicycles, Crows, Dolls and works inspired by my travels.
ix. Putting a new show out in the world feels:
Both familiar and apprehensive.

x. After this show, I’m looking forward to:
Taking some time to try to rediscover myself. I’m never content resting on the knowable.
