It’s Hard Being The Bard

Summer is here – let’s hope the sun has been notified – and the Bard is back on the Beach. Now in its 28th season, the Vanier Park Waterfront festival is still under the guidance of Artistic Director and Founder Christopher Gaze.

From June through September, the talented Cast and Crew will be putting on Shylock by Mark Leiren-Young and rotating in and out of these four Shakespeare plays:

Will Power
We can look forward to being inspired on the waterfront. Do you know who else has been inspired by the Bard?

ii. Aldous Huxley was inspired by this Shakespeare play in giving his dystopian classic, Brave New World, its title.

iii. Hermione, J.K. Rowling’s brilliant young wizard, shares her name with a character from this play.

iv. Uranus III, IV and XV are named after characters in this Shakespeare play.

v. Sigh No More, Mumford & Son’s award-winning album, gets its title from this Shakespeare play.

vi. This fish and a Shakespearean villain share a name.
