Beautiful Leikanger

As we traveled around Norway, we were thrilled to discover the most beautiful little fjord-side town: Leikanger. With its population of just over 2,000, Leikanger is nestled beside Norway’s famous Sognefjorden, the third longest fjord in the world. As you walk along the quiet lane-like roads, you’ll see white houses and abundant fruit trees.

The roses and peonies are as healthy as any we’ve seen – all those hours of sunlight must help. In one of the lovingly  curated gardens we passed, a friendly woman was setting up a long, colourful table for soon to arrive guests. The stone church dates back to the 13th Century with generations of families represented with flower-heavy gravestones.
