i. I work as a visual artist mainly as a contemporary painter and drawer.
ii. I do this creative work because:
It was always my dream when I was a girl to be a painter.
iii. A ‘typical’ day for me in the pandemic involves:
I wake up, I check my email. I drive to the film set. I had been working as a painter on the Mighty Ducks TV set. It is long hours but, I still manage to go to the studio several nights and weekends.

iv. Personal qualities that help me in my work are:
Staying focused. Even though the actual time to create is confined, there is ample time to think about it during the day, all day.
v. The greatest challenges around doing this work are:
The unknown is the greatest challenge. Is that collector interested? Will that exhibition work out? Will my dealer like the new work? When you are comfortable nothing happens.
vi. Creative childhood hobbies:
Am I allowed to say ‘drawing and doodling.’

vii. Show, podcasts, books that I’m into right now:
Nothing worth admitting.
viii. Training that has helped me in this career:
– My first art teacher, Mrs. Carmichael who believed in me when I was 7.
-I owe a lot to my training as a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University in Montreal and from my Professor, Dr. Lydia Sharman.
-Also, the stage (internship) I did in 1999 in Milan, Italy at Studio Ruiz
ix. A common trap that can hurt people in this career:
-Artists think they just need talent.
You need talent, but you also need drive, patience, and support.
Rolling Angst. 2018
The artwork is about anxiety and its spiralling nature.
x. Some proud career moments:
-My 2 large-scale paintings are on the rez-de-chaussé (ground floor ) at 1, Place Ville Marie, Montreal.
– I exhibited with the artist group PAINTER8 in Miami, Florida for the grand opening of ‘Whisper’ at ModArt Gallery in 2018. It was an exhibition exploring mental health awareness through art.
xi. Upcoming shows or events include:
There will be an upcoming show in Halifax. TBA.
xii. If you want to work in my field, I suggest that you:
Learn as much about art there is. Don’t try to ’skip’ the art history.
xiii. A professional goal I have for the future:
I have done many group exhibitions lately, but my last solo exhibition was at Maison de la Culture Plateau Mont-Royal, Montreal in 2016. I wish to do a great solo exhibition in the future.
