Feast Tofino
Tofino is one of those places that beckons you back. First, there are the infinite beaches – dramatic in winter, playland in summer. Surf, swim, walk or sit, you won’t be bored. Then, there are the forest hikes, the ocean adventures, the artists and the innovative, fresh food.
If you are thinking of visiting, Feast Tofino is another great reason to go. Running from May 5th to 22nd, this annual event is designed to celebrate sustainable, local fisheries and dock and farm-to-table food. The feasting happens in restaurants, on boats, at the 4th Street dock and even in the Tofino Botanical Gardens.
The idea is to invite chefs from Tofino and other parts of the world to do their magic with unique, fresh Tofino ingredients. The Italian/Asian Street Food & Cocktails evening at the Botanical Gardens, for instance, will feature Nick Nutting from Tofino’s Wolf and the Fog restaurant and Joël Watanabe from hot Vancouver restaurants Kissa Tanto and Bao Bei.
