So far there have been one person plays, magic shows, The Kerplunks and a be there in a flash mob doing the grapevine and the rolling twist to Aretha. Artisans have been selling their creations while farmers ladle out their winning stews.

If you can get to the Cultivate Theatre, Music + Art Festival on Gabriola Island today, you will also be able to participate in build-your-own workshops and watch a Snuneymuxw Storyteller. And at 6:30 pm, you can listen to the stories of Grant Lawrence – CBC personality and author of The Lonely End of the Rink, Adventures in Solitude and 2017’s Dirty Windshields. Performing alongside Lawrence will be musicians Kathryn Calder, Dustin Bentall and Nick Thomas.

It’s a great mix of locals and visitors and a fun peek in to island spirit.
