Golda Schultz + Jonathan Ware @ VRS
Come June 14th, two exciting, much-acclaimed international musicians will be coming to the Vancouver Playhouse to perform with the Vancouver Recital Society: Soprano Golda Schultz, and Pianist Jonathan Ware.
After training at Julliard and Bayerische Staatsoper’s Opernstudio, Schultz has gone on to perform across the world – from the Metropolitan Opera to Carnegie Hall to Salzburger Festspiele and New National Theatre Tokyo. Schultz’s frequent recital partner Ware, meanwhile, has gone on from his Juilliard, Eastman, and Hochschule für Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’’s training to performances at La Scala, the Kennedy Centre, and Berlin Konzerthaus.
As we see in our header, Schultz and Ware have a 2022 Alpha Classics debut album entitled ‘This Be Her Verse’.

Both Golda Schultz and Pianist Jonathan Ware take time to think deeply about the world of classical music and the impact they can have.
As Schultz said in an interview with ‘Classical Voice’: ‘Classical music needs to live in society. I mean us, the people who make the music, who write the music, experience the music, we live in a different world [than the composers] and music should reflect that world. We should be able to be given space where we stand. Whenever you pick up a piece of music, you find yourself in the middle of a conversation and your only job is to add to the conversation. That’s the job’.
