Isabelle Menin. Floating Gardens
In a 2021 interview, Lumos asks Belgian photographic artist Isabelle Menin – the stunning ‘flower artist’ – what is typical of her work. ‘A relatively classical notion of beauty,’ she answers. ‘In my case, I believe it is rooted in abundance, in a particularly baroque chaos’.
When asked what inspires her, Menin answers: ‘Life, other people, movement, energy, what I like, and, above all, the mystery of life’. ‘I work at home. As soon as I wake up, I work. The only thing that is always present is music. And cigarettes’.
From April 16th to 30th, Menin’s latest show – ‘Floating Gardens’ – is running at the Bau-Xi Gallery on South Granville.
