Little Shop of Horrors

“I’m just a mean green mother from outer space, and I’m bad.”

If you’re in New York, you might try to secure tickets to the Off Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors. Directed by the Tony-winning Michael Mayer and with a fantastic cast – Jonathan Groff (and Gideon Glick for Groff’s scheduled break), Tammy Blanchard, Christian Borle … – initial tickets were sold out before the first preview has even happened on September 17th. Producers have just released an additional eight weeks of tickets, running to January 19, 2020.

Many are still  introduced to Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s Little Shop of Horrors through the 1986 film directed by Frank Oz and starring Rick Moranis as Seymour, Ellen Greene as Audrey, Steve Martin as the evil dentist, and Levi Stubbs as the voice of Audrey II, the cannibalistic, power-hungry plant giant.
