Mireille Lebel + Vancouver Opera
Born and raised in Vancouver, mezzo soprano Mireille Lebel studied music at the Universities of Toronto and Montreal before going on to win international awards and perform with opera companies across Europe and North America.

Living in Berlin, Lebel returned home in 2017 to make her house début in the Vancouver Opera’s inaugural festival season as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. This October, Lebel will be revisiting Vancouver once again to kick off the Vancouver Opera’s 2020/21 entirely Digital Season.
Premiering Saturday, October 24th at 7:30 pm, Lebel will be starring in Francis Poulenc’s lyrical tragedy La voix humane. Working alongside her will be fellow Canadians, director Rachel Peake and Music Director Kinza Tyrrell, Vancouver Opera’s Principal Répétiteur.
The VO’s 2020/21 season will also include:
ii. Gian Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors in December.
iii. Richard Wargo’s The Music Shop in March.
iv. La Tragédie de Carmen. Bizet as reimagined by Peter Brooks and Marius Constant in May.
