‘HOPE. It’s been a long time coming’.

That’s a sentiment many can relate to after a jarring few years. It’s also the title of an upcoming concert by the Soweto Gospel Choir at Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Saturday, November 12th.

This three-time Grammy Award-winning group came together as South Africa was finally snuffing out apartheid. Their launching place? South West Township – or Soweto – home to Nelson Mandela.

Now comprised of 24 of South Africa’s most talented vocalists, Soweto Gospel Choir performs the world over, covering African gospel, freedom songs, and classics from across the world.

For those in Victoria, the choir will be performing at the Royal Theatre the next night, on November 13th.
