i. I work as a Concrete Artist
ii. I do this creative work because:
I love mixing the raw material into something different. Concrete is so unseen and shaping it has brought out a whole new light on the outlook of concrete. Mind The Minimal has taught me to be patient and I’ve learned to balance everyday life with art.
iii. Personal qualities that help me in my work are:
I’m very independent and organized, which has helped me a lot with my brand.

iv. The greatest challenges around doing this work are:
The greatest challenge will definitely be the amount of time it takes to properly cast concrete and creating a routine that works around it in order to keep production moving.
v. Other creators who inspire you:
Everyone I’ve met so far throughout my maker’s journey have inspired me. Everyone has a focus and dream and it motivates me to keep doing what I love.
vi. Training that has helped me in this career:
I chose concrete cause my father use to be a concrete contractor and I use to help him on jobs by passing tools and smoothing out edges. So my father has definitely taught me a lot about working with concrete and how it’s so important to be patient.

vii. A common trap that can hurt people in this career:
Learning to “balance” everyday life and work is the hardest part. So making lists and schedules are a must and are very important in order to keep yourself in line.
viii. Some proud career moments:
To be honest, when people come up to me and tell me they’ve heard of my brand before or tell me they love my products. I’m literally jumping up and down on the inside and want to run out to each of you and give you a hug.
But my proudest moment would definitely be when Mind The Minimal was featured on the front page of Georgia Straight.

ix. If you want to work in my field, I suggest that you:
Fully commit to it and know that it’s a lot of work. Understand the concept of concrete and how it works and you’ll do great!
x. A professional goal I have for the future:
My future goal for Mind The MInimal is to be able to open my own storefront and work on bigger designs.
