When people come to visit Vancouver, they expect mountains, sea, beauty, wildlife and an abundance of outdoor sports. Many are surprised to discover the rich cultural variety and creativity that drives our city and province.

The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival brings all of these these BC qualities together in nine days of films focused on Adventure, Climbing, The Environment, Mountain Culture, Mountain Sports and Skiing. Filmmakers are encouraged to celebrate culture and the outdoors and to focus their cameras locally and across the world.

Over multiple venues in North Van and Vancouver, VIMFF also offers live music, speakers, seminars, photography and international film and photo competitions. It’s a great opportunity to get together with a lively group and to see beautifully shot work set in beautiful places.
