We Won An Anthem Award!

Woohoo! We are thrilled to announce that the Creators Vancouver website has won a Silver Medal in the Inaugural Anthem Awards.  🤸‍♂️

The Anthem Awards – a new sister to the Webby Awards – recognizes ‘the breadth of social good work (online and offline) around the globe by honoring the organizations, brands, and people creating long-lasting impact. Anthem Winners are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.’

Our category? Education, Arts & Culture. Best Local Awareness Program (Not for Profit).

We are honoured to find ourselves in such extraordinary company at the Awards.

We also want to offer deep respect and thanks to all of the Vancouver creators who have inspired us since we launched! Artists such as the wonderfully talented Andre Petterson, who created the artwork we have featured in our header image: ‘Cobalt Spill 2’.

Of Cobalt Spill 2, Petterson tells us:
‘The typewriter series took on a life of its own. It started with a fascination with typewriters for their aesthetics. The mechanics  of the machine and its abilities to provide “the story “, unfolded as I photographed a variety of them.

Adding ribbon, crumpled paper, fabric, drawing lines depicting chaos or music onto the photos, culminated into a series that lasted many years. The viewer can weave their own tales  around these works. The state of the world changes and so does the story.’

Now, it’s off to craft our one-sentence 🤭 speech!
