Disembodied Vestige

iv. The type of work I’ll be showing in the Crawl is:
I will be showing a variety of work at the Crawl this year including photographs from recent travels.  I have been very fortunate this year with the opportunity to exhibit at the gallery at Cadine (3345 Cambie Street, Vancouver) and am working towards a show in April at Monica Reyes Gallery in Mackenzie Heights. The Crawl will be my opportunity to showcase some of these projects that I have worked on and am working towards.

v. I particularly enjoy being part of the Crawl because:
I absolutely love The Eastside Culture Crawl! I love the sense of community around the event. I love meeting new people. I love seeing so many people happily supporting arts and culture. I love the energy – 1000 Parker comes alive as all the hard working artists, who usually have their doors closed and heads down plugging away at their craft, open their doors and invite Vancouver in!

Eyes Wide Open

vi. Something I learned about myself in creating this work is:
I did not learn this but it became clearer to me that I absolutely love being on the road and exploring new cultures. I am the daughter of immigrants – a Lebanese father and a Jamaican mother who met in Canada. I think I inherited their love of travel.

vii. One highlight of my career from over the last few years has been:
I feel so lucky to be part of this community of creators. A highlight this year was being included in the 7th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography at Fotonostrum Gallery in Barcelona. I was able to attend the exhibition and met photographers from all around the world. It was an absolute thrill for me to see two of my pieces (from my Apoptosis exhibit at the Crawl last year) hung in Barcelona.

Next Bold Move I

viii. After this show, I’m looking forward to:
Very much looking forward to working with Monica Reyes towards an exhibition in April.

ix. Anything to add:
